- Practised the pop-up at home
On the Day
- Light breakfast and plenty of water
- Sunscreen applied before arriving
- Swimsuit or rash guard on
- Towel and change of clothes packed
- Jewellery and valuables left at home
In the Water
- Listen for your instructor's wave calls
- Look at the beach, not your feet
- Fall flat, protect your head
- Keep hold of your board around others
After
- Ask about your surfing photos
- Book a second session while it's fresh
