Jaco Surf Lessons
Jaco surf lessons with female instructors in Jacó, Puntarenas, Costa Rica. Private $140 or group $75 per person, snacks and drinks included, transportation available.
Our Jaco surf lessons are built around one idea: put you in the right waves, with an instructor who stays by your side. Lessons run every day between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM in and around Jacó, Garabito, Puntarenas.
Two Lesson Formats
- Private surf lessons — $140 per person. One-on-one coaching focused completely on you.
- Group surf lessons — $75 per person. A social, budget-friendly way to learn with friends or family.

How a Lesson Works
- Location choice. We pick the spot according to that day's swell, tide and wind — often Jaco Beach or a nearby area.
- Beach briefing. Ocean safety, currents, how to fall and how to handle the board.
- Pop-up practice on the sand.
- In the water. Paddling, positioning, wave selection and standing up, with feedback after every ride.
- Afterwards. Snacks, water, soda and beer (for adults) are included.
Taught by Female Instructors
Every lesson is taught by a female surf instructor. Many guests say it helps them feel relaxed and confident in the water.

Where Lessons Take Place
Lessons are held at Jaco Beach or nearby surf locations, chosen each day for swell, tide and wind. More experienced surfers may surf around Playa Hermosa on suitable days.
What to Bring
