Stage 2: Your First Sessions
Book beginner surf lessons in Jaco. You'll work on paddling and catching whitewater. Expect some of the common mistakes — everyone makes them.
Stage 3: Building Consistency
Surf several days in a row if you can. Start learning to read waves and understand tides and swell.
Stage 4: Green Waves
Move toward intermediate surfing, ideally with private coaching.
